![]() AboutThe Burning Bush Coffee House is a monthly concert series in Corpus Christi, TX featuring singer-songwriters and other acoustic acts from around the nation (perhaps the world). It runs from August through May, taking a short break in the summer during festival season. Parkway Presbyterian Church generously donates the performance space, but the concert series is put on by a small group of dedicated volunteer music-lovers (most of whom are not church members). The Burning Bush Coffee House is a not-for-profit venue that works on a "suggested donation" system. Most of the money collected goes directly to the artist with only a small percentage kept for equipment expenses and to seed artist guarantees for future shows. In addition to hearing wonderful musicians in an intimate setting, coffee, tea, cookies, and other refreshments are available for purchase. The refreshment proceeds benefit the Parkway Presbyterian Youth Group. Executive Producer: Pam Stakes HistoryThe Burning Bush Coffee House concert series was started in 1999 by Corpus Christi native, Pam Stakes. For the last 20 years she has been a volunteer at the Kerrville Folk Festival where she manages the Hospitality Booth, selling CD's for the billed performers. In an effort to bring a little piece of Kerrville to Corpus Christi, Pam created the Burning Bush Coffee House at Parkway Presbyterian Church. Burning Bush Coffee House, now in its 11th season, hosts many of the same performers that can be found at the Kerrville Folk Festival. See the archive for a list of past performers. ![]() |
